To address the ongoing state of emergency in children’s mental health (specifically acute suicidality), the EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center had launched the Emergency Department (ED) Screening and Treatment Options for Pediatric (STOP) Suicide Quality Improvement (QI) Collaborative. The purpose of the ED STOP Suicide QI collaborative was to bring together ED-based teams from across the nation with experts in pediatric mental health to exchange evidence-based best practices and optimize the care and follow-up of children and adolescents presenting with acute suicidality.
